Reopening This Friday!

any old lights fowey cornwall lighting shop

Apologies for the lack of blog of late – we’ve been working flat out on the shop at 9 South Street in Fowey, Cornwall. Tipper did a sterling job moving his antiques collection out, since which we’ve been renovating the space for our sole use.

The building dates back hundreds of years and we’ve given it a new lease of life. The walls and floor have had a new coat of paint. We’ve expanded the stock room (which we desperately needed to do – our previous stock “space” having been once, frankly, the toilet). New computer desk, coffee machine – yes, have a coffee while you browse! – and we now have some much needed space for our reclaimed and new industrial and marine lighting.

There’s a section for lights on stands – we’re expanding our range, just wait and see the wonders we have (literally!) in store – a space for passageway lights, centuries-old beams now hold our ceiling lights, bulkhead lighting on shelves, ships’ clocks in the shelved alcove, maritime antiques in the very old fireplace, and lovely things in our now pleasingly minimalist window.

We reopen at 11am this Friday 12 February, so pop in for a coffee and a browse. It’s currently Tuesday and there is, admittedly, some work still to do, but like all good building projects with a deadline, IT WILL GET DONE.

(We are, BTW, loving our new neon-style shop sign, as seen in the pic.)
