Shonan Kosakusho Copper & Brass Searchlight – Very Rare!

£1,850.00 (inc VAT)

Vintage Shonan searchlights don’t appear very often, and this one is both a beauty and a beast!

Finned to dissipate heat when in use, this would have originally been painted and used on board an extremely large cargo vessel. Ours is stripped and lightly polished, revealing the stunning copper and brass. The original base unit is solid brass and very heavy.

This one is dated 1974 – see manufacturer’s label – of type STG-30R and weighs 37.6 Kg.

The Shonan Kosakusho Company of Tokyo, Japan, are still in existence and these vintage originals are highly sought after.

Fully electrically furbished using vintage-style woven flex, this now takes one standard E27 light bulb. A concave reflector at the rear of the body helps throw the light.

Dimensions: 40 cm diameter, 60 cm wide including stand, 43 cm long (+ 8cm for the handle).

Please excuse the draft photographs of this vintage searchlight, shown in our shop window. We will heave this into the studio shortly!
