Fox Lights

We’re always getting asked about fox lights.

What are they exactly? Fox lights are spotlights, essentially, used to illuminate cargo being loaded and offloaded in low-light conditions.

Why are they called fox lights? Weeell… there’s the hunting interpretation, and we’ve heard suggestion that the name derives from the searchlights panning the sky in the opening credits of 20th Century Fox movies… but we’ve heard nothing conclusive. Can anyone out there – no pun intended – enlighten us?
